The mystery of Skye’s background was revealed in Agents of SHIELD season 2, when she learned she was really Daisy Johnson, daughter of an Inhuman and the classic villain Mr. Hyde. Exposed to Terrigen Crystals, the computer hacker was transformed into Quake, a girl with the power to literally move mountains.
