How do you cover a foot cast?
Plastic bags and tape are not as handy as a cast cover, but will work to keep your cast dry, for the most part. Slide a small garbage bag, a plastic newspaper bag or a grocery bag over the cast. Seal the opening with a thick rubber band or some tape or both.
Do waterproof cast covers work?
Waterproof cast covers are great at sealing your casts from end to end. They are air-tight and will let no water ingress damage your bandage. Therefore, if you do want to take a quick dip, you should always cover yourself. Otherwise, you’re going to need to keep half-out of the water at all times!

You can bathe in any type of cast, but a traditional fiberglass cast must be fully covered. However, you still should avoid fully submerging your cast, even with a waterproof cover. You can bathe as normal with a waterproof cast. It doesn’t need to be covered and will dry fully.
